During a recent trip to Barcelona, I started with the usual tourist spots like cathedrals and the beach. After doing some research, I discovered that the Montserrat Monastery is only about an hour away, so I decided to visit it by taking a tour bus.
When I arrived, I was amazed by the natural scenery and the mountain setting, but what stood out even more was the basilica itself and the statue of the Virgin Mary. The entire place felt very peaceful and meaningful. As someone who is religious, the atmosphere made the experience even more impactful, and I could really appreciate the effort and dedication that went into building such a site within the mountain.
Overall, I found the visit to be incredibly special and, in my opinion, even more memorable than some of the more famous attractions. It also felt less crowded and less known compared to other major landmarks.
I would strongly recommend visiting if traveling to Spain, as it’s easily accessible through organized tours or day trips and offers a unique combination of nature, architecture, and cultural significance.
