My passport shows my given name as “Tuan Kiet” and my last name as “Nguyen.” However, on my boarding pass I accidentally entered only “Kiet” as my first name, while my last name is correct. “Tuan” is technically my middle name, which is why I overlooked it.
I have asked different people and received mixed responses. Some say it should not be an issue, while others believe the name must exactly match the passport or I may not be allowed to fly.
Has anyone experienced this or knows the correct rule?
I am flying with American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Starlux Airlines on a round trip booked through trip.com, traveling from the U.S. to Vietnam with a transit in Taiwan.
Thank you.
