Just a quick warning for anyone flying soon: if you miss a connection because of delays from the shutdown or air traffic control, airlines aren’t giving hotel or meal vouchers.
I sat on the tarmac in MCO for almost 2 hours waiting for clearance, missed my connection, and got rebooked 24 hours later. Had enough layover time too.
Definitely worth having travel insurance right now, airlines won’t cover much if the delay isn’t “mechanical.”
