Booked MEL to Hanoi with a layover in Hong Kong. Total ticket was about $1300 AUD.
I missed the connecting flight in HK and they charged me $1600 AUD to rebook. That’s more than the original ticket cost.
I know missing a connection can get expensive, but that number shocked me. Is that normal with Cathay? Or did I just get hit with a brutal last minute fare difference?
Trying to figure out if this is standard or if I should be pushing back.
