I used to like Qatar Airways. Not anymore.
My Jan 10 flight to Doha was delayed and I missed my connection. From that point on, everything went downhill. It took airport staff about three hours just to rebook us, and during that time they held our passports and boarding passes. We were exhausted after 12+ hours of travel and completely in the dark.
I was rebooked on a flight seven hours later. No hotel. I was told hotels were only for people delayed “much longer.” Meanwhile, my friend was rebooked 24 hours later and even she wasn’t given a hotel until around 4 am when staff shifts changed. I felt sick and asked for a hotel too. Denied.
Staff were rude, dismissive, and kept giving different answers to different people. Airport staff sent us to the online desk. Online desk sent us back to airport staff. Total circus.
After three and a half hours I finally got a lounge voucher, but had to go hunt it down myself with zero directions. The lounge was packed and we weren’t even allowed to move chairs to stretch out. No rest, no sleep.
To top it off, they changed my seat from aisle to middle on a full 10+ hour flight. No upgrade, no consideration.
I’ve never felt so disrespected by airline staff while just asking for basic help. This experience completely killed my trust in Qatar Airways. I won’t be flying them again, no matter how good the price looks.
