Missed my connecting flight and Turkish rebooked me on a later one. It was all on a single ticket. I ended up leaving the airport and staying at a hotel overnight.
I’m trying to figure out what usually happens with checked luggage in this case. Is it possible to retrieve it and re check it myself, or do airlines normally hold it and send it on to the new flight automatically?
They haven’t been very clear with me and I don’t even have confirmation of where my bag is right now or if it’s tied to the new booking. I always thought bags don’t fly without the passenger, so I’m a bit confused.
If anyone’s been through this before, would love to hear how it worked out.
