Got a 12:15am departure from LAX, landing around 5am in Tokyo. I’m terrible at sleeping anywhere that isn’t my own bed. Economy aisle seat near the back.
I really want to make the most of day one, so I’m trying to game plan this.
For people who’ve done this specific timing:
Does the midnight departure actually help since it feels like a normal bedtime? Or is it still chaos once meal service starts?
Besides the usual no caffeine, no alcohol… what actually worked for you? Shift sleep schedule beforehand? Stay up super early the day of? Melatonin? Just accept fate and power through?
I’ve never been able to sleep much on US to Europe flights, so I’m wondering if this one is any different.
Would love practical tips that worked in economy, not lie flat fantasy land.
