Was on the last LAX to EWR flight last night, totally full redeye, landed around 7:30am right as the snow started. I had an aisle seat, couple was split in the row and immediately started asking everyone to switch so they could sit together.
Multiple people politely said no, for totally valid reasons. No drama during the flight, everyone sleeps, whatever.
Then after landing it got ugly. When people started standing up, the husband suddenly starts yelling at the woman in the middle seat and at me to move. Like aggressive, zero chill. Then he stands in the aisle and goes off about how we didn’t switch seats and how we were “lucky” he didn’t make our lives miserable during the flight. Completely unhinged behavior at 7am.
The wife just stood there and didn’t shut it down, which honestly made it worse. A few of us ended up reporting them to the gate agent because that kind of intimidation is not okay.
Genuine question, does reporting stuff like this actually do anything? Because that was way beyond normal seat swap annoyance.
Also friendly reminder to people flying: don’t threaten or intimidate strangers in a metal tube at 35,000 feet. Especially over a middle seat.
