Miami International Named Worst in the World for Lost Luggage – Has This Happened to You?

I’ve had my fair share of baggage headaches, but seeing Miami International (MIA) ranked as the worst airport globally for lost luggage makes me nervous for my next trip. According to new data, MIA mishandles around 306 bags per million flights, and it’s not alone on the list – Chicago O’Hare, Denver, and Dallas/Fort Worth also made the top 10. Even Singapore Changi surprisingly came in at number three.

Personally, I now avoid checking bags unless I absolutely have to, and I always toss an AirTag in just in case. Still, if you’re flying through one of these hubs, especially MIA, it sounds like extra time and planning are your best friends. Have you ever lost your luggage at Miami or another busy airport? What’s your go-to strategy for keeping your bags safe?
