Miami Beach Might Start Serving Booze, But Only in Specific Spots

Miami Beach is testing a bold new plan: officially allowing the sale of alcohol on the beach but under strict regulation. The pilot program, if approved, would place licensed alcohol kiosks in a limited area from Lummus Park to 21st Street, operating daily from 11 AM to 6 PM. Boucher Brothers, already known for beach services, would run the kiosks, offering beer, wine, and champagne in city-approved containers.

It’s designed to curb illegal drinking, cut down on beach disturbances, and boost city revenue with up to 30% of sales going back to the city and a guaranteed minimum of $250,000 in the first year. Critics worry it could change the family-friendly vibe of Miami Beach, while supporters say it's a smart step toward better control and safer tourism.

Would you sip a beachside glass of wine if it were legal and regulated like this?
