The cockpit barrier on the MAX8 was deployed during the flight, which initially made us think something unusual was happening. It turned out to be a routine situation where the pilots needed to use the restroom.
After a quick search, I saw others mentioning they wanted to see how the barrier extends, so I’m sharing it here. It folds out in an accordion style and then retracts back in.
Overall, it’s a pretty interesting and well-designed safety feature.
