A Titanium Elite Marriott member reports a problem with elite night credit after splitting a long hotel stay.
They originally had a 19 night reservation at one Marriott property in a single city. About 14 nights into that stay, they temporarily checked out to spend 2 nights at another nearby Marriott property over a weekend, then returned to finish the original 19 night stay.
They expected to receive elite night credit for both stays. However, Marriott only credited the 2 night weekend stay and did not fully apply credit across the overlapping reservation period. The explanation given was that there cannot be overlapping qualifying nights across separate stays, and because the shorter stay was completed and paid for during the ongoing long reservation window, it was treated separately in a way that limited credit eligibility.
The poster is frustrated, noting that both stays were within the Marriott ecosystem and expected a more favorable interpretation of elite night credit rules. They have contacted Marriott support again and are awaiting a response.
