A group of us booked rooms for our families for our grad school graduation weekend this May. We booked way back, around 9 months ago, and locked in pretty low rates.
Now all of our reservations have been canceled by Marriott. Every single one.
We’re at Notre Dame, hotel supply is tight, and graduation weekend is always insanely expensive. It really feels like the hotel realized they could resell these rooms for much higher rates and just wiped our bookings.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Is there any real recourse here, or are we just stuck scrambling and paying whatever the new rates are?
