Major Runway Closure at MSP Could Affect Flights Aug 18–Sep 26

If you're flying through Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) anytime between Aug 18 and Sep 26, heads up the airport is shutting down Runway 12R-30L again for six weeks of safety and drainage upgrades. This is the second phase of the project.

The FAA is adjusting traffic flow during the closure, but expect some rerouting, delays, or more flight noise if you live nearby. With MSP being one of the busiest airports in the country, any runway downtime can ripple through the schedule. I’ve got a trip through MSP next week and now I’m wondering if I should budget extra time or prepare for potential changes.

Anyone else flying through MSP soon? Have you noticed delays or noise changes near the airport?
