We are currently sailing on Icon of the Seas, and we’ve noticed something unusual during dinner.
Each time we go to the main dining room in the evening, the manager and wait staff strongly encourage us to choose the main dining room over other complimentary options like the Windjammer buffet. The messaging feels quite persistent, almost as if they are trying to actively steer guests away from the buffet and other dining venues.
It gives the impression that there is some kind of competition between dining venues onboard.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of push toward the main dining room? I’m also wondering if there is any reason behind it, such as changes in dining strategy or concerns about the main dining room becoming less popular or even being phased out.
