Planning that leg and seeing about a €30 to €40 difference between AVE and the bus.
For those who’ve done both, is the train really that much better? I know it’s faster, but is the overall experience worth the extra money if you’re trying to keep costs down?
Also, is Renfe still picky with foreign credit cards or has that gotten better? Did you book way in advance for a good price or find decent fares closer to departure?
Flying feels like overkill for that route, but curious what others actually did and whether you’d do it the same way again.
