Just a heads-up for anyone flying through Madrid. I tried to use my Priority Pass at Barajas and was told the lounge was almost at max capacity, they only let 5 of my 7 guests in, even though my pass technically allows up to 9.
I’ve never had issues at Iberia lounges or in Rome, but it seems Madrid lounges have tighter restrictions. Luckily, I got refunded for the two guests who couldn’t get in, but still annoying.
Is this just a Madrid thing, or do other big European airports also limit large groups like this?
