Heading to Madrid in early April with my wife, two daughters (10 and 6), and my mother in law. We’re looking for a good mix of big sights, great food, walkable areas, and cultural stuff that won’t bore the kids to tears.
We’ll probably do Prado, Royal Palace, and Retiro. Beyond that, what actually stands out?
Any neighborhoods that are especially fun to just wander with kids? Good areas to base ourselves? We like architecture, history, and food, but don’t want this to turn into a museum marathon.
Also debating a day trip. Toledo or Segovia? Which is more manageable and interesting with kids in tow?
Would love any tips from people who’ve done Madrid as a family. Things you’d repeat, things you’d skip.
