Noticed this on my last LH flights. I usually fly EU LCCs and they mostly care about size, weight almost never gets checked. With Lufthansa it felt very different.
Gate agents were actively checking bags and their sizers even have an internal scale. Size plus weight, no wiggle room. Saw a few people get stopped and reshuffle bags.
I’ve seen something similar with LOT too, but LH felt way stricter than most full service airlines I fly. Curious if this is just my bad luck or if this is becoming the norm with them.
