I recently traveled to Asia and flew FRA to HND with ANA in economy, then ICN to FRA in Lufthansa Business. I fly fairly often and usually end up on Lufthansa or airlines within the Lufthansa group, but this trip gave me a different perspective.
What really stood out was that the overall service on the ANA economy flight felt better than what I experienced in Lufthansa Business, which was surprising.
I mainly book business class for the seat itself because I am around 1.90m tall and not particularly slim, so having extra space makes a big difference. The seat was definitely appreciated, but beyond that, I struggled to see enough value to justify the premium price of Lufthansa Business.
One example was the onboard snack selection. I woke up during the flight, wanted to watch a movie, and went to grab a snack, but the only option available was almonds. Small things like that made the experience feel underwhelming.
