Lounge access in Sydney with Lufthansa Senator flying Cathay economy?

Someone asked an interesting question about lounge access at SYD.

They’re flying Sydney to Hong Kong on a Lufthansa codeshare operated by Cathay Pacific, booked in economy, and they have Lufthansa Senator status. The confusion is whether that status gives lounge access in Sydney since the flight itself is operated by Cathay.

They also mentioned having oneworld Sapphire, but the ticket isn’t marketed as a oneworld flight, so that might not help either.

Seems like one of those situations where alliance rules and codeshares make things really unclear.
