This one would drive me crazy. I hit 30 stays this year, or at least I thought I did. Turns out I’m stuck at 29 because a hotel in Tbilisi canceled my booking when I arrived after midnight, even though I actually stayed there.
The stay shows up as a same-day “March 14 to March 14” booking and Hilton says it counts as a day stay, not a real stay. The hotel claims they can’t fix it. Hilton chat just keeps telling me to call a US number and won’t help.
Yeah, I’ll book a cheap mattress run to keep Diamond, but it leaves a bad taste. When a guaranteed booking gets canceled on their side and still costs you status, something’s broken. Definitely makes status matches with other chains look more appealing.
