Left my suitcase on FlixBus… 2 weeks and still nothing

That’s such a sick feeling. Especially when it’s not just clothes but sentimental stuff in there.

First thing, don’t panic yet. Two weeks feels long, but with bus companies it can genuinely take time because bags often get offloaded at random depots and sit there until someone matches them manually.

A few practical things you can still do:

Keep following up every few days with your case number. Don’t just wait the full 14 or 21 days silently.

Be very specific in descriptions: color, brand, size, hard or soft shell, stickers, tags, anything unique.

Ask specifically which depot the Ottawa to Toronto bus continues to after Toronto. Sometimes luggage ends up at the next city on the route.

If possible, contact the Toronto station directly again and ask if they have a physical lost luggage area you or someone local can check.

Unfortunately with FlixBus, recovery really depends on whether the driver found it and handed it in properly. If another passenger grabbed it by mistake, that’s harder.

If it’s not found after 21 days, then you’d move to a compensation claim. It won’t replace sentimental items, but you may at least recover some value for the contents.

You’re still within the window where it could show up. I’ve seen delayed luggage turn up after 2–3 weeks once it finally gets logged correctly.

I really hope it surfaces. Losing sentimental stuff is the worst part of travel mishaps.
