On Jan 6, 2026, I was on a FlixBus from Frankfurt to Amsterdam. The driver stopped at a gas station near the border and said we had a break, but didn’t say for how long.
My friend and I went to the restroom and left our two backpacks on our seats. When we came back, the bus was gone. It continued the route without us, with our bags still onboard. We ended up returning to Frankfurt instead of continuing to Amsterdam.
I’ve contacted FlixBus and after 14 days they emailed saying they still haven’t found the bags. I’m really worried they were taken by another passenger, especially since my personal documents were inside.
Has anyone actually recovered lost luggage from FlixBus before? How long did it take, and did it eventually turn up?
