First off, I want to say I’m really sorry for what’s happening up there. I don’t want this to come off as insensitive at all. I know whatever people are dealing with locally is far more important than my travel plans.
I’m on the southern coast and only seeing the big headline news, not the day to day reality. I don’t really know the extent of the damage, how recovery is going, or what things realistically look like on the ground.
We’re scheduled to stay in Leavenworth January 7 to 9. Hotel and snowmobile rentals are booked, and we’re coming up on the cancellation deadlines. I’m trying to figure out whether it makes sense to keep the trip or cancel and come back another time.
From a local perspective, do you think things will be mostly back to normal by then, or is it better to give the area more time? Really just looking for honest advice from people who live there.
