Hi everyone, I’ve been following this subreddit for about 3 years since my first solo trip. It really opened my mind to the idea of long-term travel, whereas before I always thought vacations were limited to a couple of weeks.
On my current trip, I’ve been through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and now I’m in Cambodia. I’ve been traveling for around two months now, and my mindset has shifted, I’m more accustomed to being on the road and it no longer feels like something entirely new.
I recently found a great hotel in Cambodia at a very good price. It’s a family room with open space, a balcony overlooking the pool, plus access to a spa and restaurant, and I’m paying about $25 per night.
I’ve really been enjoying simply staying in one place. Yesterday, I didn’t leave the hotel at all, I got a massage, swam, had meals, drank coffee and beers, and relaxed while watching shows on my phone. Even though there’s a bit of FOMO or a feeling that I “should” be out exploring more, I still found it very satisfying to just unwind.
Sometimes, having a nice environment and taking time to relax is all you need.
