I have a 6 hour layover in Goa this July, arriving GOI around 1pm and leaving at 7pm. I’m 24F, 5'3", white, blonde. I dress conservatively when needed, don’t engage with strangers much, and I’m not planning on drinking alcohol.
Ideally I’d love to leave the airport, see a beach, grab a non alcoholic drink, then head back. I looked into guided layover tours but the short ones don’t include airport pickup, and the ones that do are 8+ hours.
I’m fairly experienced as a solo traveler (45 countries, most solo across Europe, North America, and Asia), but I’m getting very mixed messages about Goa. Some people say it’s super chill and safe, others say I’ll get swarmed the second I step outside the airport.
I’m not asking if 6 hours is enough time, I can adjust flights if needed. I’m really just trying to understand the safety aspect and whether this is a reasonable thing to do solo, or if I should just stay at the airport.
Would really appreciate firsthand experiences or practical advice.
