I’ve decided quite spontaneously to travel to Rome next week (March 30 – April 1) for a short trip during my spring break. I’ll be there for two days before meeting someone. Since this may be my only chance to visit, I’d really like to see the main tourist attractions.
However, I’ve noticed that tickets for major sites like the Colosseum and the Sistine Chapel appear to be sold out online. I’m wondering how difficult it actually is to get access at this stage.
Is it still possible to get tickets by arriving early and waiting in line, or are guided tours the only realistic option now? The guided tours I’m finding are quite expensive, which is difficult for me as a student.
I’m considering whether it’s still worth going or if I should cancel the trip and plan a future visit with more preparation. I’d appreciate any advice on whether there are practical ways to visit these places without paying very high tour prices.
