Looks like Vegas might be shaking off a slump. After four straight months of gaming revenue declines, the Las Vegas Strip saw a small but welcome 0.88% increase in June, bringing in $765.2 million. Downtown Vegas and North Las Vegas actually did even better, with double-digit and mid-single-digit gains. Statewide, Nevada’s gaming win revenue rose 3.53% year-over-year for the month.
Some credit is going to a boost in consumer confidence, which ticked up in July but for gamblers, the good news for casinos might mean wallets are feeling lighter. Fiscal year numbers for the Strip are still down 3%, so it’s not a full recovery yet. Have you noticed the tables or slots feeling tighter lately, or is it just summer bringing more people back to the city?
