It’s strange walking the Strip these days and feeling more space than usual. According to the LVCVA, Vegas saw just 3.1 million visitors in June down 11.3% from last year. Even with big-name residencies, sports events, and venues like The Sphere, hotel occupancy and room rates have dropped, and a major new casino project is now on hold.
From my last trip, I could tell younger travelers weren’t drawn in by the classic Vegas mix of slots, showgirls, and endless cocktails. Many prefer online gambling, skip heavy drinking, and find the Strip too pricey with its resort fees and inflated menus. Unless the city pivots toward experiences that feel fresh and family-friendly, I think this trend could stick. What would make you excited to visit Las Vegas again?
