Last year, I booked a reward ticket through KLM Royal Dutch Airlines using Flying Blue miles and added a lap infant ticket (paid in cash). Unfortunately, I had to cancel the booking. A Flying Blue agent initially confirmed that the entire reservation would be fully refundable.
For my own ticket, I received both miles and taxes back. However, for the lap infant ticket, I only received a $17 refund out of the original $367 paid.
Since then, I’ve received conflicting responses:
One agent stated the infant fare is non-refundable
Another said the refund was approved but couldn’t explain the missing amount and suggested delays
An online claim was closed and redirected to another department
Has anyone experienced something similar? What’s the best way to escalate this and recover the remaining amount?
