I got a chance to ride one of the new CRRC HR4000 subway cars on the B Line and yeah, they’re a huge upgrade from the old Breda models. Open gangways, more room for bikes and wheelchairs, longitudinal seating finally, and best of all USB ports, it's still better than the power void we’ve had until now. And the open layout makes it easier to move away from the guy vaping or the group doing full-volume TikTok shoots. Major win.
Still waiting on café cars or even a vending machine, but hey, progress is progress. This is probably the most excited I’ve been about LA transit since ever? Anyone else tried them out yet?
