We were on a family holiday in Seoul and had a return flight booked on April 16 from Seoul to Brussels with KLM.
On the morning of departure, we received a notification that our flight had been cancelled and we were automatically rebooked on a new flight departing on April 21.
After several calls with KLM, even customer service representatives seemed unable to explain why no earlier alternative seats were available. I have experienced cancellations before, usually resulting in a delay of a day or two, but a five-day change is unexpected.
We have now returned home and submitted a claim for expenses, and we are waiting to see how it will be handled.
Has anyone else experienced such long rebooking delays after a cancellation?
The cancellation was stated to be due to operational reasons.
