Kite Foiling Across the Bay: The Newest Thrill Ride in NorCal Waters

Tried kite foiling for the first time this summer, and now I totally get why people call it “addictive.” A few local legends just pulled off a 68-mile ride from Crissy Field to Sherman Island four hours of slicing across the bay using just wind and foil tech. It’s wild how this sport is evolving. From downwinders to multi-day adventures, folks are starting to treat the coast like a foiling highway.

The speed, the silence, and that gliding sensation it’s unlike anything I’ve done on water. The logistics can be a beast, but with safety prep, it’s doable. Anyone here tried a longer downwind foiling trip or thinking of one? I’m eyeing a Crissy to Berkeley run next. Tips or warnings appreciated!
