About 20 years ago, when I was around 7 years old, I was on a Ryanair flight from Kraków to Shannon.
Back then, onboard purchases only accepted one currency, and I went up to the trolley to ask about buying a chocolate bar. I pointed to the first one I saw, which unfortunately was a Snickers. I asked if I could pay in złoty, but was told I couldn’t, so I walked back to my seat feeling a bit disappointed.
Later in the flight, one of the flight attendants came over and kindly handed me a full Snickers bar anyway. I was really touched by the gesture at the time and very grateful, even though I didn’t actually like Snickers (which I never had the heart to say).
It’s a small moment, but it has stayed with me for years as a really kind memory from that flight.
