I don’t usually post complaints like this, but I’m getting nowhere and it’s becoming frustrating.
I stayed at the Kimpton Banneker in Washington, D.C. for 3 nights, booked through Perks at Work. At checkout, I was told I would only be charged for resort fees and valet parking (about $30/day), while the prepaid room charge would be handled separately.
However, I later noticed a pending charge for the full stay on my credit card. When I asked at the front desk, I was assured it was temporary and would be adjusted after departure. That did not happen.
Since then, I have been charged incorrectly by nearly $800 and have been trying to resolve it for over 3–4 weeks. I’ve contacted the hotel multiple times and opened an official case with IHG. I was told a refund was initiated on April 18, but my credit card company confirms nothing has been received.
IHG support has also not responded within the promised timeframe. At this point, I’ve made several calls and emails with no resolution.
If this continues, I may have to dispute the charge entirely, which I would prefer to avoid.
Has anyone else experienced delays like this with Kimpton or IHG refunds? If so, how long did it actually take to resolve?
