Used a GUC from FLL to LAX and ended up on the A350 ATL–LAX, so I was actually pretty happy with the upgrade… until a family of four sat in front of me. Three kids and a mom who basically checked out.
Before takeoff and the entire flight, the kids were slamming suite doors and dividers so hard the cabin shook, screaming, running up and down the aisle pounding on other people’s doors, and even crawling over the dividers into other rows. I’ve got over a million miles and I’ve never seen anything like it.
The crew clearly saw it and just chose not to get involved, so everyone in that section suffered. I get that parenting isn’t Delta’s job, but safety and basic cabin order definitely are.
Thinking about asking Delta for compensation on this. Am I out of line?
