Kid booked a non refundable hotel on Booking with a fake card, now they want full payment

Bit of a panic situation. My nephew somehow made a $700 one night hotel booking on Booking.com using a fake credit card he found online. I caught it almost right away and tried to cancel, but the hotel says it’s non refundable and they want the full amount.


No deposit was taken, but they’re still insisting on charging. The booking used my name, phone number, and email since he was on my phone and my Booking account.


Hotel is in Switzerland, which is what worries me the most. I don’t want this turning into some bigger issue later if I ever travel there. Not sure if ignoring it, contacting Booking support again, or reaching out to the hotel directly is the least bad option here.
