Landed in NYC yesterday and wow, the weather had other plans! I was heading from JFK to Manhattan when flash floods hit hard. Streets were waterlogged, FDR Drive shut down, and parts of the subway were totally stalled. My Uber rerouted three times before I gave up and hoofed it the last few blocks. Felt like a scene from a disaster movie. Even the Q line was down from a tree fall, and LIRR was suspended in places.
If you’re flying in soon, check your routes and expect delays. On the bright side, the weekend looks clear and cooler. Hoping to still catch some good eats and explore Brooklyn if places like the Children’s Museum reopen. Anyone else caught in the downpour? Got any tips for getting around NYC post-storm?
