I have a family holiday booked from Brisbane (BNE) to Rome with a transit in Doha. I didn’t arrange alternative flights earlier when issues began, and now the prices are too high to change plans.
I do have the option to cancel, but the airline has already rescheduled my Virgin Australia / Qatar Airways flights to later times. The BNE–Doha schedule has also been updated starting mid-May.
However, since Australia currently lists Qatar as a “do not travel” destination, my travel insurance may not cover the trip while transiting through Doha.
I’m feeling stressed and unsure what to do. I’m wondering if others in similar situations are keeping their bookings or canceling, and how they are handling the uncertainty.
