Just saw this and it’s honestly wild. Early this morning near Terminal 8 at JFK, an off duty customs officer allegedly fired shots during a road rage incident on the Van Wyck. Happened around 4:45am with travelers nearby. One vehicle was hit but thankfully no one was injured.
I can’t imagine pulling into the airport for a flight and suddenly hearing gunfire outside the terminal. Absolute nightmare scenario, especially with holiday travel ramping up.
Traffic was apparently a mess with lanes shut down and people being told to use the AirTrain. JFK chaos is bad enough on a normal day without this kind of thing.
Really hoping investigators get clarity on what happened here, because this is beyond unsettling.
