Booked an Alaska award on JAL and pulled it up in the JAL app to select seats, which worked fine. I can see my Alaska Mileage Plan number showing on the reservation, so that part seems reassuring.
What’s confusing me is that when I tap the dropdown to select a loyalty program, it only shows Japan Airlines as an option. Alaska doesn’t appear there at all, even though my MP number is clearly attached.
Does this actually matter, or is this just a JAL app quirk? Mainly trying to be proactive and make sure I get credit correctly on the Alaska side after flying.
