I’m usually a one-and-done traveler see a place, soak it in, and move on. But Iceland broke that pattern for me.
After visiting over 90 countries, I’ve only ever returned repeatedly to one: Iceland. I’ve now been three times and already have my fourth trip in mind. Why? Because it’s the only place that consistently gives me that how-is-this-even-real feeling.
From Reykjavík’s quirky energy rainbow streets, lava shows, museums in abandoned restrooms to the sheer drama of its nature glacier hikes, black sand beaches, tectonic plate crossings, and hot springs that melt your stress away Iceland has this perfect blend of wild and welcoming.
The food? Surprisingly incredible. The people? Even better. And somehow, every season feels like a completely different planet.
If you’ve ever been, you probably get it. And if you haven’t? Put it at the top of your list. Just don’t be surprised if you find yourself going back again and again too.
