Uganda just released April’s export numbers, and once again, Italy is sitting comfortably on top, grabbing over 42% of Uganda’s total coffee exports. It’s been trending this way for a while. Italy clearly can’t get enough of Uganda’s beans. The EU as a whole takes nearly 70%.
Not something most travelers think about, but if you’re into coffee, especially espresso, you’ve probably sipped Ugandan without even realizing it. It’s cool to see this kind of long-term trade flow, especially when it benefits small producers. Anyone spot Ugandan blends on a recent coffee trip?
