Last October I flew ITA business class NCE–FCO–AMS round trip. The flights were after ITA stopped earning XP with Flying Blue, but I purchased the tickets before the official announcement that ITA would leave SkyTeam.
At the time of booking, those flights were expected to earn XP. If I had known they would not, I would have booked another SkyTeam carrier.
I already tried making that argument with customer service for the outbound and it went nowhere.
Now I’ve noticed I was not even credited the redeemable miles for the return segment, even though ITA is still listed as an AF partner for mileage earning. So I need to submit a missing miles request anyway.
Before I reopen this, does anyone have a stronger argument that might work regarding XP? Has anyone successfully received XP in a similar situation where the ticket was purchased before the alliance exit but flown after?
Or is this just completely tied to the flight date regardless of purchase date?
