I usually breeze through Chicago, even on Thanksgiving weekends. Had a 55-min connection on Friday to BNA and it was totally fine.
But today… yeah. Landed and then sat on the tarmac for 1.5 hours. First congestion, then our gate was blocked because the plane there couldn’t push back waiting on crew from another delayed flight.
FA had to hand out snacks since we hit the 1.5 hr mark. They were so low on water they asked if I could share a cup with my kid (they did come back with more later).
Looks like another 30 minutes to actually get to the gate, but luckily my connection to YYZ is delayed 3 hours anyway.
Pretty sure I’m picking a different layover city next Thanksgiving 😆
