I attempted to cancel my booking within the 24-hour refund window by following the instructions on Etihad’s website, but the refund option was not available. I found that other users have reported similar issues.
I then contacted customer support through live chat, but the chatbot incorrectly stated that the 24-hour full refund policy did not apply. By the time I realized I needed to escalate to a human agent, the 24-hour window had already passed.
After finally reaching a human representative, I was told the issue would be investigated and that I would be contacted later. I was given multiple timelines (48 hours, then another day, and so on), but no resolution has been provided. Meanwhile, the booking is now approaching the point where the 24-hour refund eligibility may no longer apply under their conditions.
I’m now unsure what my next step should be, whether to pursue further escalation with the airline, seek legal options, or initiate a credit card chargeback, especially since it has been two months since the purchase.
