I tried to check in for my Southwest Airlines flight exactly at the 24-hour mark, but the system would not allow it.
I contacted customer support, and the first representative told me they would handle the check-in over the phone. After confirming, I asked about my boarding position, and they mentioned I would likely be in boarding group 6 to 8 based on a basic fare. However, I booked a Choice fare and also have a Southwest credit card, which should place me in an earlier boarding group.
Concerned, I called again and spoke to a second representative who informed me that the first agent had not actually completed the check-in. They also instructed me to delete and re-enter my date of birth in the system and re-submit passport information for both myself and my wife.
I am confused by the conflicting instructions and the apparent system issues. Looking for guidance or similar experiences from others on how to resolve this and ensure proper check-in and boarding position.
