I’m based in the U.S. and recently flew Virgin Atlantic Premium on the BOM–LHR route.
A few things surprised me during the flight:
The Premium seat on the 787-9 felt poorly padded and noticeably less comfortable than Premium Economy products I’ve experienced on KLM and Delta.
The menu indicated a light meal would be served after the 4:30 a.m. departure, followed by breakfast before landing. The light meal never appeared, and when I asked about it, I was handed a bag of chips instead.
There was essentially no beverage service for the first 7.5 hours of the 9-hour flight. The crew only came through the cabin again for breakfast.
Unfortunately, the breakfast was also very disappointing and barely edible.
I’ve flown a similar route on KLM before and had much better food and service, so this experience caught me off guard.
For those who fly Virgin Atlantic regularly, was this an unusually bad flight, or is this fairly typical for their Premium cabin these days?
