Planning a 3 week backpacking trip through Western Europe and losing my mind trying to compare transport options between cities.
Sometimes the train makes sense. Sometimes the bus is way cheaper but takes forever. Sometimes a budget flight looks cheap until you factor in airport transfers and time. And then there are routes with multiple train companies that don’t all show up in the same place.
Example I’m dealing with now, Barcelona to Paris:
Train is fast but pricey
Bus is cheap but basically an overnight endurance test
Flight is cheap on paper but not once you add airport costs
Google Flights only shows planes. Trainline misses some trains. Rome2Rio shows everything in theory but half the links are broken or sketchy.
What I really want is one site that:
Shows trains, buses, and flights together
Uses real prices, not “from €X” that triples later
Works across multiple countries
Doesn’t bounce me across five different booking sites
Does this actually exist, or is everyone just juggling a bunch of apps and operator websites? And yeah, people say “book direct,” but that’s like 8 different sites in 4 languages.
